State Park Foundations or Associations are the non-profit partners of the government run parks.  These charitable groups provide educational, interpretive and conservation oriented programs to protect the parks. They are privately funded by businesses and people like us.

In the context of PaintTheParks, your donations should go directly to one of these non-profit groups, or educational, preservation or art oriented programs which support the parks.

Since our founding in 1969, CSPF has raised over $209 million for capital projects and educational programs in state parks, while building a vast network of park supporters. Our mission is to help enhance state parks with educational programs, capital projects, competitive grants, and fundraising. Your support and volunteerism will help us build on these successes and ensure that California’s natural and cultural heritage will endure. Be a part of a growing community that actively serves the lands we love.

Founded in 1976, Friends is passionately dedicated to the preservation of our spectacular natural environment and rich cultural history. Friends also operates six ParkStores, offering nature- and history-themed merchandise for sale to benefit local parks and beaches.
